This panel presentation will focus on difficult conversations where politics and/or other forms of
aggression are presented by our clients. It is an area we all encounter and often with some
feelings of dread.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Define privilege, oppression, intersectionality, structural oppression
  2. Describe the complex role of power in accurate definitions of privilege and oppression
  3. Explain the application of cultural responsiveness fundamentals to clinical care
  4. Demonstrate self-awareness of one’s own positionality from a stance of critical self-compassion
